A slew of fans can rest easy for the rest of the broadcast season as a number of shows (a few thought to be on the bubble) have been renewed by their respective networks. The biggest pick-up is Fringe over at FOX. Thought to be on the bubble because of declining ratings at the beginning of the season (when it moved from the cozy Tuesday to Thursday night slot), but a creative uptick and strong showings against repeats seems to have saved the series for at least another season.

NBC got into the renewal game with the pick-up of Community after picking up its half-hour companion Parks & Recreation a few weeks ago. Community has had a steady audience the entire season no matter what's up against it, but if it ever grows into a mass market hit is still TBD, at least the producers and writers will have another set of episodes to give it the ol' college try.

Formal renewals were also announced for The Office and 30 Rock, both were expected to come back after strong ratings (The Office) and multiple Emmy wins (30 Rock) give NBC something to crow about in a post-Conan world.

Rumors are also circulating that ABC has picked up Brothers & Sisters for a fifth season, the show follows a declining Desperate Housewives on Sunday nights and could find a new timeslot depending on the development slate at ABC.
